Grievance policy

Participant/Judge Segregation :

1/ At no time during an event will the participants be permitted to enter the judging platform, or speak to a judge for any reason.
2/ Any participant in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which will be at the discretion of the ITSA officers and advisory committee.
3/ Depending on the severity of the breach, participants may receive a warning, may be excluded from the event, or may have their ITSA membership revoked, preventing them from participating in future ITSA-sanctioned events.

Lodging a Complaint :

In the event that a participant finds fault with the manner in which an event or heat is conducted, or if a participant has a complaint about another participant, judge, or member of the ITSA governing body or staff, he/she may take the following steps towards resolution:
1/ Complainant must download the official “ITSA Grievance Form� from the ITSA website.
2/ Complainant completes the hard copy form and submits it to any member of the ITSA advisory committee.
3/ No verbal grievances will be accepted.

Resolution/Reparation :

1/ The ITSA advisory committee will schedule a review meeting, not to exceed one week following the conclusion of the event, to determine the merit of the grievance and determine the most appropriate and viable manner of reparation or resolution.
2/ The ITSA advisory committee will make their position on the grievance known, as well any resultant changes to rules or policies, to the complainant and any other affected ITSA members, prior to the next scheduled ITSA-sanctioned event.
